Questions and answers on the portal

What kind of portal is this?
www.myswitzerland.com/ferienwohnungen is the holiday apartment portal of Switzerland Tourism.

How do I go about finding a holiday apartment?
Your search takes place in three stages:

  • You first have to enter all the most important information, such as your desired dates of arrival and departure, duration of stay, region, resort, apartment price and quality.
  • Next you select the number of rooms and guests and the type of property and location you would prefer.
  • Finally, you can click on any special requirements you may have, such as a parking space, swimming pool, TV, dishwasher or washing machine.
Next, just click on "search" and you will be shown a list of all the properties that meet your criteria.

How many apartments are there to choose from?
www.myswitzerland.com contains Switzerland's most comprehensive holiday apartment listings with over 15,000 properties to choose from.

Which apartment providers does the list represent?
The platform includes REKA and Interhome properties as well as the local tourist boards' offering and properties belonging to private individuals.

How can I tell whether or not an apartment is available?
The details page for each property also contains an availability calendar on which the days it is still available are shown in grey and the days it is already booked in red. Please note that your dates of arrival and departure must be dates that are underlined in green on the calendar.

How can I change my duration of stay?
Go to the calendar and there click on the new date of arrival or departure. Make sure this date is underlined in green on the calendar.

Why can't I book my holiday apartment of choice?
Some of the properties listed cannot be booked via the Internet. If you wish to book such a property, please call the contact number provided. Should you encounter any problems when making a booking via the Internet, please double check the information your have provided and if necessary contact the web master.

Can I print out the details page for a particular property?
Yes. Simply click on the "print version" button and a PDF file containing all the relevant information will open automatically. To open the PDF, you will need to have Adobe Reader installed, which you can download free of charge here.

Are the prices and availability information quoted binding?
No. As our providers' reservations systems are not fully synchronized, this information cannot be kept 100% up to date and is therefore provided without engagement and subject to change.

What is the wish list?
While searching for a holiday apartment, you are bound to find several properties that look promising. If you collect these in your wish list, then at the end of your search, you will have a clear overview of your favourites and will be able to select the one that comes closest to your dream apartment. Your favourites will remain stored in your wish list even after you have left the site.

How can I add an item to my wish list?
The details page for each property also contains an "add to wish list" button. Simply click on this button and the apartment will be added to your wish list.

How can I make a booking?
When you click on the "book" button, you will automatically be redirected to the apartment provider's reservations system. In other words, you place your booking not with Switzerland Tourism, but rather with the apartment provider directly.

Who can help me should I have any questions concerning a particular apartment?
Our apartment providers are always happy to provide additional information if so requested. To contact the provider, simply click on the button "questions on the property".

Who can help me if I have problems in connection with a booking?
